A Bank Executive
Starting his career as an Executive Trainee with First Bank of Nigeria, Aribo rose quickly through the ranks in prominent banking institutions. He played key roles at First City Merchant Bank and Nigeria Intercontinental Merchant Bank, before becoming Head of Banking Operations at Equity Bank by age 34. His executive leadership and strategic acumen shone as he later became Regional General Manager, Eastern Region, for the bank.
Distinguished Political Career
Mr. Aribo’s political career is equally distinguished, with leadership roles at both local and state levels, including his appointment as Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry for Ondo State. His contributions have earned him over 30 awards, celebrating his commitment to excellence and public service.
The Start of Micmakin Nigeria Limited
Having grown up in a disadvantaged community, Aribo always dreamed of giving back to the state he was raised in, especially in the areas of food and hospitality. He wanted to take care of the people who had taken care of him. In 1999, he decided to act on that desire and founded Micmakin Nigeria Ltd.
Our modest start
Micmakin’s first venture took advantage of incentives from the local government to produce cassava flour. At the peak of production, it produced seven tons of flour per day, all of which was well refined, hygienic, and made to international standards. Though this venture was ultimately not profitable enough to continue, it served as a stepping stone to more successful endeavours.
Who we are today
Today, Micmakin proudly owns multiple Chicken Republic franchises, operates its Oyato Bread and Oyato Cake bakeries, and develops real estate. Each investment was strategically chosen to address a need within the communities they serve, and their continued success is a testament to the dedication, vision, and hard work that go into every aspect of our operations. With each new venture, we remain committed to our core values of innovation, responsibility, and sustainability, always striving to build a brighter future for those we serve.
These diverse businesses have not only established Micmakin as a beacon of innovation, but also addressed key gaps in the local economy while creating much-need employment opportunities.
